An overview of the new Blogger post editor

This new post editor from Blogger gives you more and simpler control over many elements in your posts. The image handling for instance has become easier and lets you resize and remove the images within the post contents. In addition to this here other features that come with this new editor.

Other New Features

- Add your location to your posts with geotagging

- Posts are now timestamped at the date and time they are published, not when they were orignally created.

- Vertical resizing. You can now change the height of the post editor by dragging the resize handle in the lower right (near the labels field). The size is saved in a per-user, per-blog preference.

- Easy link editing in Compose mode. Just click a link and you’ll have the option of changing its URL or removing the link

- Full Safari 3 support on both Windows and Macintosh. The old editor is pretty quirky on these browsers, but the new editor works as you’d expect.

- New Preview dialog that shows your post in a width and font size approximating what you’d see on a blog.

Adding sitemaps to your Blogger

If you want to give your site more chances of being indexed at Google, then you should try adding the sitemap to the Google's Webmaster Tools.

The first step would be adding the site to your webmaster account. To do this, follow this link, and then click on the "+ Add a site..." button. Then Google will verify that the site is yours before allowing you to retrieve any data from the blog. In order to verify the blog, you have to copy the meta tag or HTML fragment provided by Google in to your blog's source code (follow the instructions provided by Google or see the example on that page).


Once your blog has been succesfully verified, go to Dashboard and click Site Configuration > Sitemaps > Submit a Sitemap and then just type "atom.xml" at the end of your blog's URL as shown below.
